Scentian Bio

Scentian Bio is a New Zealand startup developing portable biosensors based on insect olfactory receptors to detect volatile organic compounds. Its sensor platform measures receptor-driven electrical signals and uses artificial intelligence to generate VOC fingerprints for comparison with reference samples. The company is developing a food-industry quality-control offering for ingredient authenticity, adulteration, and flavor profiling. It is also advancing a noninvasive breath-based diagnostic concept for diseases including tuberculosis. Scentian Bio raised a $2.1 million seed round to further develop and commercialize its technology.
